Yuen Kee origin and development

In the 1970s, Mr. Yuen Koon Choo was born in New Village, Pokok Assam, Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. Most of the local residents depend on agriculture and animal husbandry for their livelihoods. With the local culture, Mr. Yuen¡¯s family also raised many chickens and ducks, his mother was a master at cooking good dishes, especially salted-steamed chicken is famous to every neighbourhood. Everyone must order the traditional and delicious salted-steamed chicken by his mother cooked on every festival. She also served with high-quality herbs such as Angelica sinensis, Chuan Gong, pepper, etc., to make the sauce is rich and flavorful.
Later days, Mr. Yuen earned his living by engaging in the food industry in Ipoh. After working hard for a period of time, Mr. Yuen discovered that because he had been away from home for long time, he was nostalgic for his mother cooked salted steamed chicken with original medicinal materials. He didn't want such delicious traditional food to be lost, so he went back to his hometown to ask his mother method and formula of making salted steamed chicken.
After his mother¡¯s guidance, Mr. Yuen found out that the production process was time-consuming and inconvenient. In a busy life, simple and convenient methods is the most important. So he start to research the improved formula with "Convenience Plus Retention of Traditional Flavor".
In 2013 year, Mr. Yuen had established a food branding as Yuen Kee, and successfully improved the formula, the traditional salted steamed chicken was renamed as "Yuen Kee Traditional Flavor Sauna Chicken".
For keep the traditional flavor, free-range chicken is smear with bamboo salt and angelica herbs, steamed in a large pot.
It not only retains the essence of the ingredients and also tonify the body. It can be served by steaming with the new packaging, which is convenient and time-saving.
Mr. Yuan¡¯s vision is bring this traditional flavor product to the international market, to let more people taste the traditional flavor of the sauna chicken, the best dishes by his mother.
